This sketch shows the Bynguano Range, now part of the Mutawintji National Park co-managed by the the Mutawintji Aboriginal Land Council.
Mutawintji National Park is the tribal area of the Malyankapa and Pandjikali people. Aboriginal people have been utilising the abundance of natural food and water resources at Mutawintji for thousands of years.
The park was returned to its traditional owners in 1998 and is held on their behalf by the Mutawintji Local Aboriginal Land Council.
The park's weeds include noogoora burr, Bathurst burr, and Paterson's curse. Pest animals include foxes, goats, and rabbits. All three pose a major problem for native animals, particularly threatened animal species. Rabbits damage the already fragile soils and threaten endangered plant species.
