Peter Yiannoudes: When we took over the Westgarth Theatre, one night I was, I couldn’t sleep so I went into my office and I decided to screen a film. And I was alone in the cinema. And then the police came and they locked the doors and said, ‘What’s happening?’. Because they assumed somebody is in the cinema. And I told them that I’m the owner. I said, ‘I’m watching a film’. They said, ‘At 2 o’clock in the morning?’. I say, ‘yes’. I’ve heard some stories but not to such an extent.
And so I like to see the films on the big screen. It’s a different, different feeling. Video and the big screen on the tv is not as entertaining and as emotional as when you watch the film on the big screen at the cinema.
