Omid Shayan:
I wrote this song, Ahange Gus, for the (Moreland) junior band, and I used a Middle Eastern flavour for this one. I got the idea from some records that my parents used to play. There are a few Iranian composers who would sing songs for weddings. You’d call it kind of a pop genre - “Middle Eastern pop”, if you want. So I wanted to take that idea and turn that into a tune that has a lot of momentum. It chugs along nicely and has a nice little rhythm section going. (Plays piano riff…) That sort of idea…

Gus Cowling:
It’s just a kind of fast-paced tune - lots of fun. It’s a bit of everything, you know - lots of solos in the middle. It’s pretty good! I like it.
