A former student of Federation University Australia, Bridget Bodenham has quickly established herself as a respected ceramicist, gaining accolades and participating in various award based exhibitions.
Federation University Australia Art and Historical Collections include work from the Ballarat School of Mines established in 1870, which boasts the longest continuous tertiary art school in Australia, and the Ballarat Teachers' College which started an art collection in 1951. The University seeks to develop and maintain a permanent collection of high quality works of visual art for the cultural enrichment of its student body, staff and wider community. The art collection, which currently numbers just under 1,000 items, consists of largely of works by Australian artists with works dating from 1879.
Ceramic artists represented in the collection include Bridget Bodenham, Neville French, John Gilbert, Vic Greenaway, Tina Lee, Le Feng Lo, Christopher Headley, John O’Loughlan, Alan Peascod, Peter Pilven, Gwyn Hanssen Pigott, Milton Moon, Connie Ngai and Petrus Spronk. A large turned timber work by Vic Wood and a tapestry woven by the Australian Tapestry Workshop are also highlights.
