Coal Creek Heritage Village
Nestled in a valley among the rolling hills of South Gippsland, Coal Creek Heritage Village is built around the poppet head and original coal mine workings. Since 1974, original buildings have been acquired from around the district and faithfully restored to show the diversity of rural life as it was back at the turn of the century. Coal Creek is a historical adventure just waiting to be explored and experienced. Coal Creek Heritage Village is a not for profit orgnaisation. We are an arm of the South Gippsland Shire Council under a Section 86 of the Local Government Act.
Our CollectionSixty-three buildings telling the story of coal mining, dairy farming and local commerce from first settlement in 1820 to 1920 in the South Gippsland area.
