Although the museum is an old railway station and has some rolling stock, it is primarily a social history museum covering the history of the area. A gold area, mining led to the redevelopment of Bright; panning, sluicing and dredging preceded mining. The railways opened up the valley but roads and cars made the railway redundant. Tourism followed and displays of all these developments are part of the museum.
Our CollectionItems of local social history including some railway stock, gold artefacts eg goldpannig, dredging and reef goldmining, local family histories, photographic collection.
