Blessed Sacrament Congregation & St Francis Church Heritage Centre
St Francis’ Church is the oldest Catholic Church in Victoria and the oldest church on its original site in Melbourne. In 1929, St Francis’ Church became a eucharistic shrine in the pastoral care of the Blessed Sacrament Congregation of priests and brothers, founded by St Peter Julian Eymard in France in 1856. The Congregation has since expanded to other parts of Australia and also to Asia.
The Blessed Sacrament Congregation and St Francis? Church Heritage Centre preserves archival records and artefacts relating to the history of St Francis? Church and the activities of the Australian Province of the Blessed Sacrament Congregation. Please refer to the Heritage Centre page on the St Francis? Church website for further information.
