Anna and Ervins Apinis stayed at the Parkes Holding Centre upon their arrival in Australia in 1950. Anna was able to bring her precious loom when she migrated to Australia. This was a blessing as her obsession with weaving helped to ease the pain of displacement and separation that she and her husband Ervins felt in their new land.
