Maryborough-Midlands Historical Society

Maryborough-Midlands Historical Society is based at Worsley Cottage in Maryborough. The Society was formed 40 years ago and has maintained Worsley Cottage as a museum complex and headquarters for the society for 25 years The complex consists of a Victorian hand built stone cottage (by Arthur Worsley), furnished in the period and complemented by display areas depicting Maryborough's history from 1854 . The complex also has a new resource centre with family and district history records available for research.

Our Collection

Records available for personal retrieval include: Maryborough Cemetery records, Maryborough rate books, death notices from the local paper plus over 300 pioneer portraits. Hospital admissions 1855 ? 1907, wedding photographs by Wal Richards 1946 ? 1996, the archiving of many other printed and photographic records is progressing.
