Manningham Gallery is the City of Manningham's major contemporary arts venue. The key purpose of the Gallery is to maintain, interpret and present the Art Collection for the enjoyment and education of visitors to the Gallery and the Manningham Municipality.
The exhibition program encompasses a broad range of contemporary visual arts practice including painting, sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, drawing, photography, furniture, video, installation and multi-media artworks.
The Gallery is situated prominently at the front of the Manningham Council Offices in Doncaster (12kms or 15 minutes from Melbourne's CBD via the Eastern Freeway, Melway Ref: 33, F12).
The Manningham Art Collection comprises Australian contemporary ceramics; Australian Indigenous contemporary art, with a focus on Wurundjeri and South-Eastern region Aboriginal artists; two dimensional art work including painting and photography; and finally an oral history pertaining to the Manningham Art Collection.
Another most significant aspect of the Manningham Art Collection is the contribution by Walker Ceramics. The Walker Ceramics Collection on permanent loan to the Council since 2008 spans a twenty year history of the production of ceramic art.
