Gippsland Art Gallery
Bringing to Sale and the greater Gippsland region, a mix of historically significant art as well as the latest in contemporary art practice, Gippsland Art Gallery, Sale presents an innovative balance of contemporary and traditional exhibitions. Featuring the work of local artists 52 weeks a year, the Gallery also rigorously curates an ever changing program of national and international touring exhibitions. Our annual exhibition program provides for a line-up of activities including exhibition openings, artist and curator talks, bus tours, panel discussions and film nights. The Gippsland Art Gallery-Sale is also home to the John Leslie Art Prize, a $10,000 non-acquisitive biennial art prize for works of art referring to the Australian environment.
The Gallery's collection focuses on artworks depicting the land and environement of South Eastern Australia, it also contains international, historical, modern and contempory art in many styles and mediums.
